Furthering The Interest Of All Aspects Of Amateur Radio

Long Serving Chairman & Secretary Stand Down – Dave & Rina

At the 2026 AGM our chairman and club secretary stood down. The club would like to thank its long standing dynamic duo David Horner (Chairman) and Rina Horner (Secretary) for many years of dedicated service to the club. They have assisted many newcomers to the club to gain their licences and ensured the club has continued for many years. The time has come to step back and take life a little easier; although both Dave & Rina will remain active club members.

Thank you Dave (M0TEG) & Rina (2E0RIN).

This then opened the door to our newly elected chairman, Welcome, John Livesey (GOJJL)

John is keen to take the club forward, especially in relation to attracting new members and expanding the club’s activities. John is a retired Senior Spectrum Engineering Officer at Ofcom, having previously worked for The Radiocommunications Agency and Lancashire Constabulary Radio Branch, he is also a trustee of the Radio Communications Foundation – RCF charity which aims to attract youngsters into a radio communications engineering career via amateur radio.

Next to step up was our newly appointed secretary Nigel Roberts (G3NRS)

We would like to pass on our congratulations to our newly elected Club Secretary, Nigel (G3NRS), for passing his Full licence exam this week. Nigel decided to work towards his full licence over a year ago, but needed to restudy his Intermediate course before moving onto the Full course. It has taken a while, but he eventually got there!.
