At our 2026 AGM, John Livesey, G0JJL, has been appointed the new chairman of South Lancs Amateur Radio Club. He is keen to move the club forward, with a strong focus on attracting new members and expanding its range of activities. John’s interest in radio began at a young age as a shortwave listener. A retired professional radio engineer, he is now a trustee of the Radio Communications Foundation (RCF), a charity that encourages and supports young people into radio engineering careers through amateur radio. He is also a strong advocate within the amateur radio direction finding community and hosts many events.

Welcome our new secretary, Nigel is a recently retired Technical Director and Enterprise Architect who spent over 30 years working for leading IT consultancy companies. Much of his career focused on identity management, email, security, and cloud computing. A keen outdoor enthusiast, he enjoys cycling trips across Europe and mountaineering in the Cumbrian Lakes and Welsh mountains, often combining these activities with his passion for amateur radio.
